NSYNC Reunited at the MTV Video Music Awards 2023

(CNN)NSYNC, one of the top boy bands of the ’90s, reunited in full — yes, that means Justin Timberlake was there — during the MTV Video Music Awards held Tuesday.

Lance Bass, Joey Fatone, Chris Kirkpatrick, JC Chasez and Timberlake appeared on the VMAs stage to present the best pop award to Taylor Swift, who took home the night’s first trophy for her 2022 hit “Anti-Hero.”

Swift jumped out of her seat when they first appeared on stage, and cheered along with the boisterous crowd at the sight of the five members of the iconic boy band back together. Upon collecting the award, the group presented her with a friendship bracelet along with the statuette.

The last time all five members of *NSYNC appeared on stage together was at the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards, when Timberlake received the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award and wowed the crowd by performing “Bye Bye Bye” and “Girlfriend” with his four bandmates.

*NSYNC first burst onto the pop music scene in the late 1990s, joining the boy band craze alongside 98 Degrees and the Backstreet Boys.

In 1998 they released their eponymous debut album, with hit songs like “Tearin’ Up My Heart” and “I Want You Back.” Their next album, “No Strings Attached”, arrived with the turn of the century and scored big on the Billboard charts with “Bye Bye Bye” and “It’s Gonna Be Me”.
